Common Questions About Our Vehicle Services
Find answers to the most frequently asked questions about renting vehicles in Nepal
What documents do I need to rent a vehicle in Nepal?
For foreign visitors, you'll need a valid passport, driver's license from your home country, and an International Driving Permit. For Nepali citizens, a valid national driver's license is sufficient. All renters must be at least 21 years old with at least one year of driving experience. We'll also require a security deposit, which is fully refundable upon safe return of the vehicle.
Which areas of Nepal do you service?
We operate throughout Nepal with primary service in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, and major highway routes. We can arrange vehicles for destinations across the country, though some remote mountain areas may require 4WD vehicles with experienced drivers. Our roadside assistance covers all major highways and tourist routes. For specific destination inquiries, contact our team for personalized route planning.
What happens if the vehicle breaks down during my trip?
All our vehicles come with 24/7 roadside assistance. If you encounter mechanical issues, simply call our emergency helpline. We'll dispatch assistance immediately - usually within 2 hours in major areas, and within 4-6 hours in remote regions. If the problem cannot be fixed on-site, we'll arrange a replacement vehicle at no extra cost. Our comprehensive insurance covers towing and minor repairs, so you won't face unexpected expenses.
Can I drive the vehicle myself, or is a driver provided?
You have both options! We offer self-drive rentals for those comfortable navigating Nepal's roads, as well as chauffeur-driven services with experienced local drivers. Our drivers are licensed, English-speaking, and knowledgeable about local routes, traffic patterns, and cultural sites. The choice depends on your comfort level and itinerary. Many travelers opt for drivers in mountainous regions where local knowledge is particularly valuable.
What types of vehicles do you offer, and which is best for mountain roads?
Our fleet includes motorcycles, scooters, economy cars, SUVs, 4WD vehicles, and minivans. For mountain regions like Annapurna Circuit, Langtang, or Everest region approaches, we strongly recommend 4WD vehicles (like Toyota Prado, Land Cruiser) or sturdy motorcycles (Royal Enfield, adventure bikes). These handle Nepal's challenging terrain best. For city travel and major highways, our economy cars and SUVs are perfect. Tell us your itinerary, and we'll recommend the ideal vehicle.
How does insurance work with your rentals?
All rentals include comprehensive insurance covering third-party liability, collision damage, and theft. There's a standard deductible (excess) that varies by vehicle type. You can reduce this deductible to zero by purchasing our Full Coverage Protection at a daily rate. Insurance does not cover damage from off-road driving, driving under influence, or negligence. We provide detailed terms during booking. For international travelers, we recommend checking if your travel insurance offers additional coverage.
What is your fuel policy, and where can I refuel in remote areas?
Vehicles are provided with a full tank and should be returned full. We provide a fuel card for major stations (NOC, Nepal Oil) and a map showing reliable stations along popular routes. In remote areas, fuel availability can be limited, so we recommend filling up whenever possible. Some high-altitude areas have designated fuel stations for tourists. For extended remote trips, we can arrange extra fuel containers. Our team will brief you on fuel availability specific to your itinerary.
Can I modify or cancel my booking?
Yes, you can modify dates, vehicle type, or pickup location up to 24 hours before your reservation at no charge. Cancellations made 48+ hours in advance receive a full refund. Within 48 hours, we charge a small processing fee. For last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows, the deposit is forfeited. During peak seasons (October-November, March-April), we require 72 hours notice for free modifications. All changes can be made through our website or by contacting our customer service team.
